Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp addressed a press conference ahead of his side’s clash with Newcastle and talked specifically about the ongoing Mohamed Salah to Saudi Pro League rumours.

A number of sources are said to have reported that Saudi club Al-Ittihad — who signed Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema on a big-money contract — is interested in the Egyptian.

While other sources reported that the 31-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Al-Ittihad but Klopp's latest comments on this issue seem to have dismissed all the rumours.

"Yes (there isn't anything to talk about)," he began.

"It's difficult to talk about media stories as there's nothing to talk about from our point of view. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. There's nothing there. If there was something the answer would be no (he's not for sale).

"My life philosophy is I think about a problem when I have it. At the moment, there's nothing. I said already if there is something, the answer would be no. Is Mo still committed? 100 per cent!"

As per Klopp's comments, it is believed that the Reds do not want to sell the right-winger as he just signed a three-year deal with the club last summer.

Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, also shut down the rumours in a social media post in the first week of August.

"Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool," he said.

Al-Ittihad currently have Benzema, Salah's former Liverpool teammate Fabinho, and N'golo Kante, and the team management want the three to combine with the Egyptian forward.

Saudi Pro League has taken the football world by storm. It all started when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 after mutually ending his contract with Manchester United.

Ronaldo became the gateway to the Middle East for Europe's finest superstars as we have seen the likes of Neymar, Roberto Firmino, Alex Telles, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Aymeric Laporte, Kalidou Koulibaly, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Neves, Otavio, Malcom, Seko Fofana, Franck Kessie, Merih Demiral, Jota and many others joining him in the Gulf country.
